Chris Brown pleads not guilty
R&B star Chris Brown pleaded not guilty in a Los Angeles court on Monday to charges stemming from an alleged attack on his girlfriend, popular pop singer Rihanna. Brown, 19, entered the pleas during his arraignment in the Los Angeles Superior Court. After hearing the charges against him, Brown answered with “not guilty, your honor”.
Brown has been charged with two felonies over his alleged fight with girlfriend Rihanna in February, which left the Umbrella singer battered and bruised and in need of medical attention. A photo of Rihanna’s bruised and battered face was leaked onto the Internet and sparked outrage among her fans. Brown faces four years behind bars if he is convicted of assaulting his girlfriend.
Judge Patricia Schnegg has set an April 29 status hearing for Brown.
